The characters became my good friends. I'm so glad to learn that Harding ...

When I got down to the last few chapters, I stopped reading. I didn't want this book to end. The characters became my good friends. I'm so glad to learn that Harding is writing more books with these same characters. The pace is fast but thoughtful. This book is about relationships. The characters are human -- multi-dimensional. I felt their love, their fear, their doubts. The mystery threaded through the book keeps you on your toes. I love the secondary characters as much as the main ones. This author writes about human beings, not flat cardboard figures. She has the prequel out, titled "A Matter of Security," but not in print. It can be downloaded as a pdf. I'm saving mine to read later. Saving it for dessert.

A writer with Potential

“One kiss can change your life.”
For Sheriff Sarah Pitt this seems to be true. One kiss from her childhood friend Win Kirkland and she can't stop thinking about changing teams.
Late Bloomer Sarah is up for reelection as town Sheriff. Will her attraction to ex-Marine Corps Win Kirkland be the end of her career,the beginning of a beautiful relationship or both?
Told in alternating first person, I Will Meet You is an entertaining read that touches on the challenge of being a late bloomer with all the accompanying preconceptions and homophobia. As the author explores this theme, and Sarah's reluctance to declare her attraction towards Win, both women are dealing with threats from their past as well as the present.
I Will Meet You There tries very hard to be a romantic suspense novel. There are both military and police ops which are talked over and planned extensively. There are also plenty of opportunities for Win to educate Sarah in the ways of lesbian love. While the romance builds throughout the novel, the action sequences fall short. There is danger, but the action scenes feel anticlimactic compared to the buildup discussions. A bit more work on building suspense and S.M. Harding will be a writer to watch.
I'll never be a fan of first person POV but the author succeeds in letting the reader in on the viewpoints of both women. The secondary characters are strong if stereotypical.
A good read by an author with potential.

Fantastic Book!

There are not enough stars available to award what this book deserves. I have waited impatiently to have Harding's three dimensional characters in my hands in paperback format. To have Micah's Southern Indiana voice take me back to my childhood. The writing is tight, fluid and deft. I normally don't care for first person, but I read the manuscript 10 times in 1 weekend. I have read it over 70 times now and the paperback once since I received it 4 hours ago. I've got some making up to do! LOL. I am happy to say book 2 "A Woman Of Strong Purpose" is under contract. and manuscripts 3-5 have been completed. Yes I have read them all 70 times! Harding is writing # 6, just not fast enough! I cannot say this strongly enough, BUY THIS BOOK, YOU WILL LOVE IT!
